by: MattZ

Wed Apr 01, 2009 at 17:25:16 PM EST

Below is VALCV's alert asking people to contact their Delegate and Senator supporting amendments to HB 2506 (Pollard) and SB 1248 (Northam).  These bills provide incentives for investments in energy efficiency programs.  The amendment to SB 1248 adds a goal of achieving 19% energy efficiency by 2025.

Please contact your elected officials today becuase they will be voting on these measures next Wednesday, April 8th, during the "Veto" Session of the General Assembly.

Take Action to Support Energy Efficiency
Urge Your Senator and Delegate to the Governor's Amendments

During the 2009 session, the General Assembly made its first commitment to promoting energy efficiency. We now have a chance to make this legislation (HB 2506 and SB 1248) even stronger!

Please contact your Delegate and Senator and urge them to support the Governor's amendments to HB 2506 and SB 1248.

On Monday, Governor Kaine offered an amendment to Senator Northam's SB 1248 that adds a goal of achieving 19% of our energy needs through energy efficiency by 2025. This target was the top recommendation of the Governor's Commission on Climate Change. He also amended Delegate Pollard's HB 2506 to further strengthen and reinforce Virginia's commitment to energy efficiency.

The rest of the alert is after the jump...

MattZ :: Support Energy Efficiency Amendments
We need your help to make one final push for efficiency! Reaching the 19% goal with energy efficiency is the cheapest, quickest and cleanest way of meeting Virginia's rising energy needs.

Please contact your Delegate and Senator and urge them to support amendments to strengthen cost-effective energy efficiency in HB 2506 and SB 1248.

Through efficiency, we have an extraordinary opportunity to boost Virginia's economy, create jobs, and lower electricity rates, while also avoiding the need to build costly and polluting power plants for years to come. Thanks to all your work this session, we have taken strides to improve energy efficiency in Virginia but we have a chance this week to accomplish even more!

That article is really true! We are on the terrible crisis. So what are we going to do is  try to improve our source of revenue, and to help ourselves. We need your help to make one final push for efficiency! Reaching the 19% goal with energy efficiency is the cheapest, quickest and cleanest way of meeting Virginia's rising energy needs. Aside from that,  Are you familiar with the Carvel Chain? That Carvel, the ice cream chain, is jumping on the giveaway promo bandwagon, giving out a free Iceberg drink at all Carvel locations.  The chain is located mostly on the East Coast, as almost 200 of their 500 locations are located in New York State alone.  The giveaway is for the company's 75th anniversary.  Tom Carvel started the company with a cash advance in the 1930s. He built a franchise of frozen custard stores, ushering in the era of soft serve. The company became renowned for its ice cream cakes, lauded and parodied in pop culture for decades.  You won't need installment loansfor an iceberg from Carvel.
