America's Pissed Off Arctic, aka America's Ground Zero for Climate Change

by: Eileen

Wed Aug 19, 2009 at 11:22:55 AM EDT

Here's a painfully funny video from the Alaska Wilderness League to support a petition drive to President Obama to protect America's Arctic.

"Isn't it finally time to protect the treasures of America's Arctic from destructive drilling?  Last year, there were more than 90 oil spills per day in the United States.

All of America's polar bears live in the Arctic Ocean, migratory caribou still roam free in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and birds from around the globe congregate at Teshekpuk Lake in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska.  These are natural treasures that belong to us all.  We have a duty to protect them."

Let's face it, Climate change is the next issues that our world is dealing with. The America's Arctic, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Teshekpuk Lake and other sanctuaries should be protected and preserve. We've been busying ourselves in making good economy but what happens now is we are loosing the beauty and naturalness of our environment especially the bodies of water as well it's land forms. Look at the seas and ocean, they are full of polluted oils and garbage. The rivers and lakes are beginning to dry up and many water species are endangered and extinct already because of our abusive acts. We all know that unsecured loans are not enough to restore all of this, but I do believe that if we support this campaign in protecting our dying nature we might still revive it. Remember, moneys are not enough to save us all if the nature pays us back with natural calamities and disasters.
